This is a wonderful Christmas craft that's really easy to do. I thought it would be great for my "older kids" ages 8 -10 but my toddlers and preschoolers really got a kick out of it! Its a wonderful craft table idea for holiday family gatherings. Fairly inexpensive and produces one of a kind results.

Materials Needed for your painted ceramic 
ornaments & figures
Materials:
washable tempra paints
ceramic figures and ornaments from your local craft or discount store
optional: varnish
General Instructions:
Set up the table with protective paper. You might want to also have the kids wear old shirts or aprons. Set up several colors of paint and make a rule for the younger kids that they have to stop painting when there is no more white showing. (reason being the little ones will just keep painting over and over until you get a dingy not so pretty grey).
Allow the items to dry a couple hours.
optional - cover with a clear coat varish to brighten the colors.
