This is a wonderful craft for ages as young as two. You don't have to resign yourself to actually putting the star tree topper on the tree. It could adorn a low table next to the nativity so your child can enjoy it too!
Materials Needed for your star tree topper
Materials:
Printable Craft Template - star printed on heavy cardstock paper(or choose to cut your own from a traced cookie cutter)
Foil wrapping paper
White Glue
Glitter
Toliet paper tube
scissors
General Instructions:
Print out your Christmas Craft Template on cardstock
While you Cut it out allow your child to rip foil style wrapping paper.
Start gluing the wrapping paper pieces to the star
Allow to Dry
Fold over any wrapping paper pieces that extend over the edge of the star
Create a design with the glue over the top of the wrapping paper. (Dots, swirls, even a name)
Sprinkle with glitter
Shake off the excess
Allow to dry flat
Glue star to a toliet tube (paper roll)
Allow to dry again
TIP: For older children allow them the create dimension and depth by cutting a smaller star and decorating it. Then when dry apply it on top of the larger star with a glue dot or small piece of folded paper.
